Taika Waititi
- Who
Taika Waititi is are Visual artist who directed two cars one night. He also worked along side Adam Clark who was the Cinematographer of this short film. This was a good chance for Taika establish himself in the New Zealand film industry.
- What
This work is about three maori children who are new to acting. Which shows the both of the children falling in love for the first time. The subjects that are used in this short film is two cars with two brothers in one car and the girl in the other. Through teasing and making fun of each other are ways that young children do to get each others attention.
- Where
Adam Clark who was the cinematographer moved to New Zealand from Canada about 15 years ago. Was his first time in the area of where Two Cars, One Night was shot. From Wellington it was a eight-hour drive at the top of the east coast, not far from where Waititi and producer Ainsley Gardiner both grew up.

This Short Film was Released on January 2004 and it was published and funded through the New Zealand Film Commission. It was based in
- Why
This work from Taika is very interesting to me because he uses personal stories to empower his work and materiality gives that New Zealand Relation to me and the viewer of the short film.

Terri Te Tau
- Who
Terri Te Tau is a Visual Artist of Maori descent who grew up in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand who is currently working towards her Doctorate in Fine Arts at Te Putahi a Toi, Massey Unniversity.
- What
Unwarranted and Unregistered is an art space show where you are invited into a high gloss cherry black van and projection sited within a gallery space. Using projection on the windscreen and the sides of the van to create a personal story. Followed with a rendition of "E Hine E" a classic Maori waiata that was utilised by mainstream TV channels in the 1980's/90's to signal the end of transmission for the night (known as the Goodnight Kiwi).
- Where
Terri Te Tau's show is based around her growing up and how she connects within the gallery space is something that interest's me. This show consist of a journey along the main road of Greytown in the Wairarapa. Which gives you the experience of being at home and the feeling of belonging to a place or space.
- When
This show was in the Mata Aho Collective Exhibition Puwawau at Aratoi: Wairarapa Museum of Art and History in 2013.
- Why
I found Terri Te Tau's Unwarranted and Unregistered interesting because of her installation and how she relates to my recent search on Taika Waititi. The way she presents herself through moving image is a strong style of artwork.
